  The Alliance of Latin American Students (ALAS) represents the rich diversity of Latin American cultures present at the University of Miami. • Black Female Development Circle, Inc.

  The purpose of the Black Female Development Circle is to present vital knowledge in the form of mental and spiritual challenges to reshape thinking, provide mandatory practical life skills and specialized life skills that empower, and generate a stable environment of respect, admiration, and appreciation for our own kind and our contributions.

• Filipino Students Association

  FSA aims to promote the unity, culture, and heritage of the Philippines and Filipino-Americans through ethnic dance, food, guest speakers, and cultural events; promote the welfare of our members; provide a positive social atmosphere for all members, and encourage participation in the University of Miami and Miami communities.

• Hairology

  We are the Natural Hair Hub of UM; the go-to for all hair and beard needs! The purpose of Hairology is to educate the University of Miami community and spread awareness about the diverse array of hair textures and types. Hairology aims to promote the acceptance of all hair in society and inspire individual confidence. We hope to help you love yourself from the outside in, starting with your hair.

• Hispanic Heritage Month Committee

  The Hispanic Heritage Month Committee is a student organization linked to the Alliance of Latin American Students (ALAS) with the goal of promoting awareness and celebrating Hispanic and Latin cultures at the University of Miami. First celebrated at the U as “Hispanic Heritage Culture Week” in October 1989, Hispanic Heritage Month has evolved into a must-attend celebration recognizing the long-standing and remarkable contributions as well as the influence of Hispanic-Latin Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

• Méxicanes

  The Mexicanes are a group of students interested in fomenting Mexican culture and traditions and tearing down walls that divide the University of Miami community. We are not nationality-exclusive and welcome anyone who might relate to or learn more about our culture. The Mexicanes are involved in social and academic affairs, and one of our main goals is to create a safe and welcoming environment for our members and help them through the transition into a different culture to the one back home.

• Mission JA

  Mission JA is the University of Miami’s association for Jamaican students. Our purpose is to foster a sense of community, cultural identity, and personal development among current University of Miami students of Jamaican backgrounds and promote cultural awareness to those of non-Jamaican backgrounds. We know it may be hard being away from home, so consider this a safe space to connect with your fellow yaadies. • National Council of Negro Women Inc.

  The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. was founded in 1935 by Mary McLeod Bethune to lead, empower, and advocate for Black women, their families, and their communities. Programming will be grounded in the Four for the Future: economic empowerment and entrepreneurship, mental and physical health, STEAM education, and public policy. NCNW will serve the UM community to create impactful leaders through mentorship, education, and service with the assistance of the accreditation, rich history, and national network from our National Headquarters. • Planet Kreyol - Haitian Student Organization

  The purpose of Planet Kreyol is to unite and represent Haitian students at the University of Miami. It is our purpose to promote and coordinate active participation in the academic, cultural, social, and political activities of Haitian students at the University of Miami.

• PorColombia 

  The UM Chapter of PorColombia began as the "Colombian Students Association" and has evolved into a strong network of proud students at the University of Miami. While one of the goals is to unite and represent Colombian students, PorColombia is not nationality-exclusive and is welcome to anyone who might relate to our culture. Through cultural, professional, and philanthropic initiatives, PorColombia aims to educate and raise awareness of present and future opportunities to build a stronger and dynamic community where friendships that last a lifetime are formed.

• Swaggeraas

  Swaggeraas is the University of Miami's premier Garba-Raas team. Well, what exactly IS garba-raas, you ask? Garba-raas is a traditional Indian dance style originating in Gujarat, India. Umiami Swaggeraas and many other collegiate teams across the nation have used their passion for this high-energy dance form to create upbeat and exciting performances geared toward national competitions!

  The Unión Venezolana (UNIVEN) is a student organization whose purpose is to unite the Venezuelan community on campus as well as to celebrate our traditions and spread them to other students. UNIVEN also wants to contribute to students' personal and professional growth, and guide Venezuelan and other international students in their process of cultural and social adaptation at the U. Reactivated in 2004, UNIVEN strives to foster leadership and school spirit while creating a social and service-oriented network at the University of Miami for Venezuela

• Black Student Leadership Caucus

  The Black Student Leadership Caucus offers the opportunity for black student organization and leaders to voice their opinions about campus programming, event planning, effective leadership, and role modeling. The members of the Black Student Leadership Caucus represent the black student population on campus. They work collaboratively to create a holistic experience that focuses on academic, professional and personal success.

• Brothers Overcoming Negativity and Destruction

  Brothers Overcoming negativity and Destruction (B.O.N.D) assists multicultural males in becoming role models for the community, promotes individuals to achieve success and sets a new standard and image for the urban male in today’s society. B.O.N.D upholds the principles of:

  • Promoting male pride by self-enrichment and self-education
  • Providing general academic, social and leadership support for males by incorporating all aspects of student life
  • Establishing leadership to provide political and social change on the University of Miami campus
  • Promoting academic achievement in the classroom as well as increase knowledge of self-outside the classroom
  • Removing all negative stereotypes associated with males by maintaining a positive image
  • Serving as exemplary models for males on campus and in the broader community

• Caribbean Students Association

  The purpose of the Caribbean Students Association is to raise the level of awareness at the University of Miami and in the surrounding community of the cultural diversity of all Caribbean nations. CSA is more than just an organization as we are a family. We strive to encompass the unique traditions and cultures of the Caribbean countries. This is the thread that links us as people. In our diversity comes our commonality and we hope to educate our members and the greater University of Miami community about the melting pot we call our home. • Latin Leadership Council

  The Latin Leadership Council aims to increase collaboration among the diverse student body for Latin and Hispanic-identifying students to voice their opinions about campus programming, effective leadership/representation, and advocacy at the U. Its purpose is to serve as the place to unite the University community and serve as a support system to the Latin and Hispanic population to foster educational and cultural activities.

• Speak What You Feel

  Speak What You Feel (S.W.Y.F.) is a student-run organization that focuses on gathering people who are interested in all forms of poetry for social, practice, and competitive purposes. Our main focus is spoken word, but we encompass dance, painting, drawing, writing, music, photography...any and ALL forms of artistic expression!

• Unity Roundtable

  UNITY Roundtable brings together student leaders from the diverse cultural groups that the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) works with. Meetings are held every month and provide an opportunity for students discuss issues pertinent to the multicultural community, such as career planning, collaborative programming, support and guidance for multicultural student organizations, leadership development training and sharing of knowledge and resources.   The Asian American Students Association (AASA) at the University of Miami promotes the awareness of Asian culture and the Asian American identity. • Asociación de Estudiantes Peruanos

  Asociación de Estudiantes Peruanos is committed to spreading Peruvian culture throughout the various campuses of the University of Miami and beyond. Uniting all Peruvian students as well as students interested in learning about Peruvian culture. We act as a representative organization of students from the country of Peru through birth, citizenship, or ethnic origin. We welcome and encourage students to join our organization and will maintain open channels of communication with organizations and other bodies whose objectives, activities, and concerns are in line with those of Asociación de Estudiantes Peruanos.   The purpose of First Gen Canes is to unite, empower, represent, and cultivate leaders among First-Generation college students at the University of Miami. • Indian Students Association

  The Indian Students Association at the University of Miami has built an exceptional presence on campus. As a leading, non-for-profit student organization with over 300 members, ISA is involved in hosting and organizing events that spread awareness of the rich and vibrant Indian culture; these include, Garba, Diwali showcase, Holi, and our annual end of year banquet! We constantly strive to support other Indian organizations on campus like SwaggeRaas, Hurricane Bhangra, UJhoom, Tufaan, UTaal, DePSI, and the Hindu Students Council by giving them avenues for performance and collaboration. In 2019 our efforts were recognized by winning COSO's Organization of the Year award as well as COSO's Creativity Award for one of our most celebrated event, Food Olympics!

  MNSA is for any student that has an interest in nursing and promoting awareness of health disparities as well as advocating for Nurses of all different backgrounds.
