Over the last few months, the University of Miami has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and taking the necessary actions to safeguard our University community. In recent weeks, Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties along with other parts of the United States have seen an increase in reported COVID-19 cases.

With safety as the University’s top priority, Horizons 2020 will be a fully remote experience with content delivered via live and pre-recorded video presentations over Zoom. Therefore, no events will take place on the Coral Gables campus. The session date will remain the same, and specific information regarding how to access the program will be e-mailed to participants a few days before each session begins.

Horizons is an orientation program designed to assist new multicultural students in their transition to the University of Miami. This program compliments the University's new student orientation program by presenting students with a preview of campus life. Horizons introduces new students to our diverse community and provides them with an opportunity to meet and interact with new and returning students. Participants will also meet faculty and administrators who will discuss some of the academic, personal, and social adjustment questions that you may have as an incoming college student. All students are expected to attend the University-wide orientation program which takes place on Tuesday, August 11th, 2020. For additional information on New Student Orientation, visit the orientation website.
